Join 100 words mate to mate founding member Craig Turton (Turts) each Tuesday at 8pm for ‘mate to mate at 8‘ and a weekly special guest.
In the next episode Turts catches up with Peter Lincoln
Peter is married to wife Mandy, has two beautiful boys, Charlie, 6 and James, 5 and is a Paramedic. He was born and raised in Moe, and grew up with a love for sport, food, family and immersing himself in nature.
Pete completed a Bachelor of Nursing in 2003 at Monash University and in 2008 transitioned to become a paramedic. Since then he has worked in an operational role as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic for Ambulance Victoria (AV).
In 2013 a friend (and colleague) ended his life by suicide, leaving behind his wife and 4 young daughters. Pete was immediately impacted and since then has had a desire to learn more about mental illnesses and creating connection and conversation between his peers. He is passionate about breaking stigmas, connecting people and building communities of support.
Join Pete as he chats about his own experiences helping his wife through post-natal depression, and about what he's doing to make a difference by connecting collegues, mates and other blokes in his community through 'Dads Group', and Peninsular Golfers Anonymous.
