mate to mate at 8 | Pete Lincoln
In this episode of mate to mate at 8, Turts catches up with Pete Lincoln. Pete is a husband and father, Paramedic, and works tirelessly to bring blokes together in the communities he works and lives in.
Pete was born and raised in Moe, and grew up with a love for sport, food, family and immersing himself in nature.
Pete completed a Bachelor of Nursing in 2003 at Monash University and in 2008 transitioned to become a paramedic. Since then he has worked in an operational role as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic for Ambulance Victoria (AV).
In 2013 a friend (and colleague) ended his life by suicide, leaving behind his wife and 4 young daughters. Pete was immediately impacted and since then has had a desire to learn more about mental illnesses and creating connection and conversation between his peers.
He is passionate about breaking stigmas, connecting people and building communities of support. He has been instrumental in getting a 'Dads Group' up and running in his community, and helped found Peninsular Golfers Anonymous - a great excuse to get a bunch of guys together in the fresh air, sharing banter and most importantly, supporting each other.
